Training

Training is an integral part of the service that Covey Security provides our clients.

We are not just hiring people to fill a spot but training them to be effective while on duty.

If your guard company does not have a full-time, dedicated trainer with the relevant experience, then you might as well hire a temp agency, because they are just sending bodies to you.

Covey Security makes sure that our guards are equipped with skills and technology to successfully
protect and report on the places that they serve.

Our training covers all aspects of security, from report writing, observation techniques, de-escalation training and working with law enforcement agencies.

For higher level assignments we have training in firearms, baton, pepper spray, CPR/AED and First Aid.  If a site requires additional training Covey Security makes the investment to ensure our training team is able to implement it at a superior level.

Training

Proper training is often an overlooked component of providing security services but is a bedrock of how Covey Security does business. Properly training guards sets us apart from our competitors who typically look to put a hot body in a cold seat. We want to make sure that the officers we deploy have the tools needed to get the job done right.

Key components of our service are as follows:
  • In-house training
  • Leveraging technology (Not as a crutch): Have you ever been through a training session that is strictly on the screen? These tend to be ineffective and more of a crutch to ‘get through it”. We use technology to enhance our training.
  • Training is not a one-time thing: After initial training, we make sure that guards have periodic check-ins with our staff to keep training fresh. Additionally, we will bring in guards for training.
  • CPI Certified trainer for de-escalation training
  • Additional training CPR, AED, First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogen, Workplace Violence, Active Shooter.
